Trauma & Emotional Wellbeing

Many people carry the effects of difficult

or overwhelming life experiences. These

experiences can influence how safe we

feel in the world, how we relate to others,

and how we cope with stress and

emotions.

Therapy can provide a safe and

supportive space to explore these

experiences at a pace that feels

manageable and respectful.

Anissa has previously worked extensively

in specialist trauma services, specifically

supporting children, adolescents, and

families affected by harmful sexual

behaviours and domestic and sexual

abuse. This experience informs a

compassionate and trauma-informed

approach to care.

Support may focus on:

• Understanding how trauma affects

emotions, thoughts, and the body

• Developing skills for emotional

regulation and grounding

• Reducing anxiety, distress, and

overwhelm

• Rebuilding a sense of safety and

stability

• Processing past experiences in a

supportive environment

The aim is to support people to develop

greater resilience, emotional balance, and

a stronger sense of wellbeing.

Therapy is always guided at a pace that

feels safe and manageable for each

individual.
